Officers Successfully Negotiate with Suicidal Person

On May 6, officers with the Cheyenne Police Department successfully negotiated with a suicidal person who was threatening to jump from the top of the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center parking structure. Officers were dispatched to CRMC, 214 E. 23rd St., at approximately 9:30 a.m. where a 19-year-old male was reported to be standing at the top of the parking structure and threatening to jump.
Officers from the CPD’s Crisis Negotiation Unit were dispatched and after an hour and a half the subject backed down from the ledge and was provided mental health assistance.
