85 Future Leaders Gain Professional Development
The Cheyenne Professional Network (CPN), a Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Committee comprised of young professionals, organizes the Rocky Mountain Future Leaders Conference. This regional workforce development training began Thursday, April 6th and concluded Friday, April 7th. CPN Member and one of the event coordinators, Kortnie Mendoza, from Peak Wellness Center, shared, “The purpose of the Rocky Mountain Future Leaders Conference is to equip our current and future leaders with the knowledge and tools to be successful in any business environment and within any industry sector. There is something for everyone. The goal is to create an opportunity to connect with others, learn from our peers and focus on trending topics that maximizes the potential and growth.”
Speakers at the invent included Brittany Ashby from the ALIGN Team, Will Hardin from SCORE, Suzy Meisner-Esquibel from Laramie County Abstract & Title, Josh Dorrell from TriHydro, and Karl Cline from Peak Wellness Center, along with Governor Matt Mead. “It is always wonderful hearing from the Governor. Also, it is helpful to understand our leadership styles.” expressed Mendoza, “Ultimately, this year’s conference provided information about key topics that address the barriers we face every day in the business environment. Most importantly, I think it provided options to embrace concepts, learn from each other and network to capitalize on the presented opportunities.”
This opportunity only happens once a year and the goal of making professional development training to this region accessible is the reason this conference exists. Like Mendoza other employers in the area find it critical to extend these opportunities to their employees, “It is incredibly important to embrace every potential opportunity to educate our workforce. Part of this process includes investing in professional development activities for our teams that focus on growth and development… or breaking down barriers. Through sending staff to the Rocky Mountain Future Leaders Conference, your business is essentially demonstrating its commitment to growing and strengthening the leaders of tomorrow.”
