Puppies Change Lives
Raise a puppy and change lives!
Did you know that you can raise a puppy and make a difference in the lives of those who are in need of Assistance Dogs? K9s for Mobility is a non-profit enriching lives through the training, placement and support of Assistance Dog Partnerships.
Tex, who is the most recent puppy was sponsored by a family in Texas. They are also going to raise the puppy for the first year of his life. The volunteers who raise the puppies are responsible for teaching them how to sit, stay and other basic commands but most importantly, they are to expose the dog to people and a variety of surroundings. During the first year it is imperative to expose them to different sounds, environments and everyday life so they can become the best Assistance Dog.
“As long as they come pick up the puppy and return the puppy those who volunteer and raise them can be from anywhere!” shared Michelle Woerner, one of the founders and current CEO.
The non-profit was founded five years ago by local Cheyenne residents who were in need of an Assistance Dog. Today the non-profit has expanded to have its own location and has provided Assistance Dogs for a variety of individuals all around the Nation. Learn more by contacting K9’s for Mobility today!
