Cheyenne Original Music
Cheyenne Arts Festival organizers have announced the music lineup for the 6th annual event, August 18-20, 2017.
The Cheyenne Arts Festi- val is a 2-1/2-day celebration of juried visual art exhibits, music, dance, artisans and food in downtown Cheyenne. The Festival is coordinated by Arts Cheyenne and will return to the Cheyenne Depot Plaza and Depot Museum.
“This is an exciting musical lineup with something for everyone . . rock, hip-hop, Amer- icana, soul . . all performed by musicians at the top of their game,” said Bill Lindstrom, Executive Director of Arts Cheyenne. “You won’t find a better free music experience in Cheyenne.”
Lindstrom also announced the Festival’s Sunday performance lineup will be a celebra- tion and showcase of Cheyenne musicians that are part of the much-anticipated Cheyenne Music Compilation CD “Any Way the Wind Blows.” The 3-CD set, to go on sale during the Festival, is made up entirely of 45 Cheyenne-based musicians that have each contributed an original music track. Sales of the CD will benefit the Cheyenne Youth Symphony and is being produced by Charitree Cheyenne and Arts Cheyenne. The Sunday Showcase lineup will be announced in early August.
Performance groups scheduled to appear on Saturday include: Fort Collins-based, rock group “Fat Stallion; folk trio “Dakota Blonde” from Denver; the jazz group “Jane Robi- nett Quartet” from Cheyenne; “sweaty-soul” ensemble “The Burroughs” from Greeley; and hip-hop/reggae duo “The Reminders” from Colorado Springs. Members of the Cheyenne Guitar Society will also perform on Saturday.
