General Hokanson meets with Community Leaders
As a wrap up for Cheyenne Frontier Days, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce held a second General’s Reception on July 29. This event was attended by many community and military leaders, including General Hokanson. General Hokanson serves currently as the 29 Chief of the National Guard Bureau and is a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He founded the National Guard’s first Military Assistance to Safety and Traffic (MAST) and Military Air Rescue Team (MART) program. General Hokanson was the guest of honor at this event, and attendees were honored to hear him speak about his experience as a military leader and thoughts on Cheyenne. He had lots of praise for the hardworking men and women in uniform at Cheyenne’s F.E. Warren Air Force Base. In addition to General Hokanson, this event was attended by Wyoming leaders Governor Mark Gordon and Mayor Patrick Collins. Attendees were also honored to welcome Tunisian ambassador Hanene Tajouri Bessassi to Wyoming at this reception. Governor Mark Gordon and first lady Jennie Gordon were gracious enough to host this event at their home again. The hard work from everyone involved in planning and organizing this event made it a big success. Attendees were able to learn more about Sentinel, a major military project being implemented in Cheyenne, as well as learn more about their political and military leaders.
