Mother Nature Not Friendly for Thunderbirds Show

Many throughout the Cheyenne area were not happy with mother nature yesterday, July 26th. Due to the rain, and cloud cover the U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds cancelled their annual Cheyenne Frontier Days Air Show.

They did not leave town without visiting a few sites, meeting the fans of the local community, and enjoying the great Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo and night show.

The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the Thunderbirds for an annual farewell dinner, which extends the community’s gratitude for 65 years of their service.  Each Thunderbird dedicates over 250 days to their mission each year and are away from their families much of this time.  The dinner is also an opportunity  to thank both the Thunderbirds and their loved ones for this service. Today, they embarked on their journey to the next destination. Sharing the departure with others, Tim Barth, Director of Aviation, for the Cheyenne Regional Airport said, “We were happy to share today with our fine partners.”
