Cheyenne Arts Festival Around the Corner
The 6th annual festival is August 18-20 in the Cheyenne Depot Museum and on the Depot Plaza in downtown Cheyenne.
Visual artists representing six states will be showcasing their talent in the juried artist section at the upcoming Cheyenne Arts Festival in Cheyenne.
“The creativity of these artists is quite remarkable,” said Bill Lindstrom, Executive Director of Arts Cheyenne. “We had strong artist interest from across the region during the application phase . . making it a tough job for the Festival jury to decide. This year’s Festival will certainly feature some of the best creativity the community and the region has to offer.” Work samples of the CAF artists, who hail from Wyoming, Nebraska, Colorado, Montana, Idaho, and Tennessee, are now visible on the Festival website (cheyenneartsfestival.com).
As in past years, the Festival will also feature Youth Art Workshops . . a popular hands-on art creation area for young people and their parents. The rapidly-growing Artisan Boulevard exhibit area showcases locally-produced crafts and foods. More than a dozen music and dance groups will also be featured on the Festival stage on the Plaza. Most Festival activities are free to the public.
The Festival begins Friday, August 18th with a free reception for visual artists and art patrons in the Cheyenne Depot Museum. The Festival is collaborating with Fridays on the Plaza on Friday evening and with the Farmers Market on Saturday morning. The entire weekend Festival schedule is available online.
The Cheyenne Arts Festival is hosted by Arts Cheyenne with support from the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority/Main Street and other local sponsors.
Arts Cheyenne is the community’s advocacy and cultural development organization for Cheyenne and the region. Its mission is to promote and facilitate arts through education, awareness and experience.
