Cheyenne Celebration of 150 Years Begins
The City of Cheyenne planned special festivities during the week of August 7th through August 12th.
On July 4th, the City did a special presentation for the 150th at Romero Park. This set the stage for the August festivities. During the event the 150th Community Boot was unveiled as well. Therefore, the celebration will be remembered throughout history.
Festivities for the August week of events will begin with a special invitation only event hosted by the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce and presented by Town & Country Supermarket Liquors, The Mayors’ Roundtable. The event will feature all of the past living Mayors in a fireside chat.
Then August 8th there is a Cheyenne’s Birthday Bash will be held at the Romero Park. They will do the encapsulating of the 150th time capsule at 11:00 a.m. In the evening, there will be a “Party on the Plaza” from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
On August 10th there is a special “History Comes Alive” event from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne Civic Center. This event is open to the public and will feature a variety of guest speakers.
