Community Cuts Ribbon
Cheyenne Botanic Gardens hosts community ribbon cutting!
Shane Smith, Director for the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens, started off the event with some history of the botanic gardens and what has led to the grand opening of the new Grand Conservatory.
There was a large crowd, including the Friends of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens Board, staff, volunteers and the community. A few comments below provide insight to the great sense of community pride:
“I am a member of the Friends of the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens. It’s great to see something beautiful come from all the hard work,” said Sue Hanson.
Jenn Adu participated in a hard hat tour earlier this year and said, “When doing a hard hat tour you start your imagination as to what it will look like. It’s above and beyond what I ever could have imagined.”
Floyd Freeman came out today and stated, “It’s a real achievement for the City of Cheyenne. He is a member of the Cheyenne Engineers Group and remembers touring the Gardens in 1977 when it was east of town. This year the Cheyenne Engineers Group presented a BEST Science Kit to the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens and is currently in the classroom on the 2nd floor.”
