Senator Barrasso Makes a Mark with NDAA Amendments

The 2024 National Defense Authorization Act has been passed, which provides a budget of $886 billion for the Department of Defense. $183 million of this will go toward our own F.E. Warren AFB for their projects. Senator Barrasso worked hard on getting three specific amendments included in the Senate’s final version of the FY24 NDAA:

Nuclear Fuel Security Act: Authorizes funding to increase production of low-enriched uranium in the U.S.
Air Force is required to maintain 271 (minimum) C-130 aircraft and refurbish/maintain 150 (minimum) LGM-35A Sentinel ICBM silos.
Combat “blood batteries” by requiring President Biden’s administration to work towards ending issues in mineral mining, including human right violations, forced labor, and child labor, across the globe.
