Military Blockade has Fallen, and Promotions will Continue
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville (R), who has kept a blockade in place that prevented military promotions for months, announced this week that his blockade would be lifted. Senator Tuberville put this blockade in place as a protest of a Pentagon Policy that ensures service members have access to fertility care and abortions, as well as time off and travel reimbursement to go along with these services.
What they’re saying: Democrats and Republicans alike in Washington D.C. opposed this blockade, which prevented hundreds of military promotions from occurring. With its removal, more than 400 promotions can now continue.
