Affordable Housing in Cheyenne is Moving Forward
One of the top items on your Cheyenne Chamber’s agenda is the affordable housing issue in our community. Recently, we partnered with Laramie County Community College to conduct a housing study to better understand the specifics of this problem. With the implementation of Sentinel fast approaching, it’s now more important than ever that there is affordable housing available. Others in the area have also been working to fix this, and recently had an exciting breakthrough.
Go deeper: The City of Cheyenne was awarded $1.8 million by the State Loan and Investment Board yesterday. These funds are intended to develop infrastructure on a Storey Blvd. plot owned by Habitat for Humanity, on which they hope to construct 17 affordable housing units by 2026.
