Workforce Retention Addressed in Seminar
68% of employees quit due to their immediate supervisor.
Cheyenne Professional Network, a young professional group of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, brought in retention expert, Mike Henke on Wednesday, September 13, at the Cheyenne Atlas Theatre. The seminar was brought to the community by businesses, Samson Energy and also supported by B’s Baked Goods, Magic City Enterprises and Walmart Distribution Center.
“The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce visits with businesses on a daily basis and noticed retention as a common concern. Thus, Mike presented to the business community three core retention methods; voice at work, communication and personal growth.” expressed Director of Partner Relations, Tonya Dove.
Below are three tactics to improve retention within businesses and best practices so employees are retained.
– Voice at Work: The days of the company CEO being “off-limits” are over. Retaining employees today includes a platform for employees to have a voice that is heard.
– Communication: Everyone can improve communication with their employees. Today access to information is just as important as the action of communication.
– Personal Growth: Companies today not only provide a classroom styled training but believes in creating opportunities for each individual professional.
