ENDOW is Well Intentioned

ENDOW, appointed Governor Council, considered well intentioned.

During the Pancakes & Politics event hosted by the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Laramie County Legislators addressed what to expect this upcoming legislative session and answered audience questions. One question stated, “The ENDOW identified the importance of helping entrepreneurs when creating a diverse economy. How will the State Legislature support this?” The ENDOW is a Council comprised of community members across the State who were appointed by the Governor to focus on solutions for economic diversification. It is an initiative is managed by the Governor’s office and partnership with other State Agencies such as Wyoming Business Council

Representative Dan Zwonitzer addressed the audience question first stating, “ENDOW is well intentioned.” However, he could not formally share full support because there has not be a yet a proposed plan.

Senator Tara Nethercott elaborated on the topic expressing that the State of Wyoming is highly supportive of entrepreneurs. The State of Wyoming has been declared the most friendly tax climate for businesses. As for the importance of entrepreneurs for diversification, Nethercott stated that the Legislature is more than aware of this and considers it a “no brainer.” Representative Landon Brown shared that the first item which surfaced from the ENDOW Council was the need of air service, “If we don’t have air service then none of this other stuff can fly.” He further explained that the proposal regarding this did not move forward and this is an example of what may happen in the future. While the Council may have suggestions and provide options to the Legislature the issues will be addressed as they are provided to the policy makers.
