Leaders Embark on Community Action Plan
Beginning next week, community leaders in Greater Cheyenne will embark upon a strategic planning process to help make the community a more prosperous and vibrant place to live, work, and do business.
By initiating this process to develop an ambitious yet actionable Community and Economic Development Strategy, numerous organizations and community partners in the Community, economic, and workforce development advisers from Atlanta-based Market Street Services will help facilitate the strategic planning process.
Founded in 1997, Market Street has worked with clients in 34 states and more than 160 communities across the country to identify their vision, develop appropriate strategies, and craft plans for efficient and effective implementation. Community input is needed and currently there is a quick survey for residents to take.
The process is supported by multiple sponsoring organizations and will be guided by a diverse Steering Committee comprised of representatives from the public, private, and non-profit sectors. These individuals will help ensure that the strategy is responsive to the wants and needs of our community, its residents, and its employers. The process will include five key phases:
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Community Assessment
- Economic and Workforce Profile
- Community and Economic Development Strategy
- Implementation Plan
