City of Cheyenne Commits $600k to Commercial Air Service
Cheyenne Regional Airport is in need of funds for a commercial airline.
To help recruit a new commercial air service provider to the Cheyenne airport a minmum revenue guarantee, often referred to as MRG, needs to be available. The Cheyenne Regional Airport has dedicated $200,000 and plans to secure $580,000 of State funds. They have now gained the support of the Cheyenne City Council who appropriated $600,000 towards air service (8-0 vote).
The next government body to further assess financial support for air service is the Laramie County Commissioners. Hopefully with these investments along with private contributions a high enough MRG can be raised for a regular commercial flight.
Great Lakes Airlines was the last commercial air service provider in Cheyenne and rapidly discontinued their services in March.
