Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Mayors Challenge Progresses
City of Cheyenne continues its work to win the Bloomberg Philanthropies Mayors Challenge.
On Tuesday, July 10 the City of Cheyenne will host their final Buildings With A Purpose (BWAP) event as part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies’ Mayors Challenge in the lobby of the Historic Depot (121 W. 15th St.) from 5:30-8:00 p.m.
The City’s BWAP event will focus on crowdfunding and the community’s willingness to invest in a project once a match has been made between a building owner and entrepreneur. Those in attendance will be guided through scenarios of a paired building owner and entrepreneur thus opening crowdfunding opportunities with BWAP.
Crowdfunding is an emerging source of online funding with BWAP set to provide an opportunity for citizens to contribute to the success of a local project once a match between a building owner and entrepreneur has been established.
The public event coincides with Cheyenne’s Neighborhood Night Out event taking place at the Depot Plaza from 6:00-8:00 p.m. where food and drinks will be available. The Neighborhood Night Out – aimed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships — will also feature music and games to complement the City’s BWAP event in the Depot lobby.
