Wells Fargo Bank
On Monday, April 17, 2017 at approximately 0733 hours, Deputies with the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department responded to an alarm at the Wells Fargo Bank located at 3600 E. Pershing.
When the deputies arrived on scene they could see the front door had been smashed open. They could see a male inside that refused to come out of the building. There were no employees inside the bank at the time of the incident. When the deputies tried to enter the male initially threw a soda can at them. The male was stating that he had a wire or spider inside his head. The deputies attempted entry again when this time the male discharged a fire extinguisher at them. The deputies waited until they felt the fire extinguisher was empty when they attempted entry again. When they entered the male had found another fire extinguisher which he discharged at the deputies again. At that point the deputies deployed a Taser and the male was taken into custody without further incident. The
front door glass had been broken with a brick.
The male was identified as Andrew J. Wojciechowski, a 40 year old male, was taken into custody. He was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center to be checked on due to being hit with a Taser. The male subject also claimed to have a bomb in his backpack. The EOD Team was called to the scene and the backpack was rendered safe. They did not find a bomb. At the time of this release the male subject is still in the hospital. Chargers are pending.
Wojciechowski does not have any local ties, he does have ties to Minnesota.
