WYHY PROMOTES FROM WITHIN FOR NEW CHIEF RETAIL OFFICER
As they begin the initial stages of an exciting remodel of their branch locations and enhancements to their personalized service capabilities – WyHy Credit Union is proud to announce the promotion of one of their own as their new Vice President/Chief Retail Officer.
In September, Matt Ballou of Casper, WY transitioned from WyHy’s Casper branch Member Services Manager to the senior leadership role of Chief Retail Officer.
“Over Matt’s 6 years with WyHy, he has exemplified our core values of advocacy,” says WyHy’s President/CEO Bill Willingham. “Matt is never one to shy away from a challenge and is always looking for ways to help us provide the best member service possible. ”
After receiving his BS degree in Business Finance from the University of Wyoming, Ballou began his career with WyHy as a Financial Life Coach with a promotion to Financial Service Manager just two years later. In 2015 Ballou was selected as the Wyoming Scholar for the Mountain West Credit Union Association Foundation Executive Leadership program. Through the MWCUA Foundation Executive Leadership Program scholars complete a five-year curriculum which includes: Western CUNA Management School, The Association’s Leadership Institute, The Development Educators’ Program, a personal executive coach, and a hands-on mentorship program. Ballou graduated this past July from Western CUNA Management School with honors, one of only 15 out of 109 students to receive this recognition. Ballou has completed all of the curriculum and currently participating in the hands-on mentorship program.
“We look to recruit and invest in the best talent around, so when we are fortunate enough to be able to have someone like Matt already a part of our team it’s extra rewarding to see such a driven, and caring individual thrive,” says Willingham. “We could not be more thrilled with Matt’s growth over the years, and we know our team and members will experience the positive impact Matt will make in his new role as WyHy’s Chief Retail Officer.”
