Christmas House Stunned Shoppers
The Christmas House is an annual event put on by the Women’s Civic League.
This year the event was hosted at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens featuring 3 floors of handcrafted and hand-created gifts. With over 3,200 attendees came in a two day period to explore the offerings and shop. Overall this function of the Women’s Civic League has produced $1.5 million over the last 49 years. Funds are distributed to community improvement programs, scholarships for local students and much more. This year was a high performing year with all of the 1,400 kitchen items selling. Final numbers for what this year’s event produced won’t be available until 2019.
“Botanic Gardens crew went above and beyond for us. We are so lucky to have them in our community.” shared Christmas House Chair, Kim Brokaw with #1 Properties.”
All of the items available for purchase are produced by the Women’s Civic League. Members participate by providing a certain number of items to the gift room. They also attend craft workshops throughout the year and they produce food goodies. Each room has a theme, which helps to make the shopping experience at the event easy and fun. Nearly 250 volunteers make this event possible and it is a cherished holiday event in Cheyenne.
