Jordan Johnson was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Dec. 10.
According to the selection committee Johnson, who is a senior at Central High, is a “model student whose positive demeanor is apparent.”
She maintains a weighted GPA of 3.74 and challenges herself with honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. She excelled as a national qualifier for speech and debate, received a state championship award in arena theatre and has been a Central High competitive swimmer the last four years.
Johnson’s swimming coach describes her as “a person of high character that is always willing to serve others before herself.”
In addition to her school involvement, Johnson has served for four years as a Cheyenne Frontier Day’s Dandy and is active on CFD’s Indian Committee. She volunteers with the Women’s Civic League and recently helped fill and distribute Thanksgiving baskets for those in need.
“It means a lot to me just because I really wasn’t expecting it,” Johnson said about the award. “It’s nice to be honored and recognized for what I’ve done over the past four years of high school.”
After graduation, Johnson plans to attend the University of Wyoming where she will major in business and attend law school.
