Leadership Cheyenne Presents Check
The 2015-2016 Leadership Cheyenne class presented a check for the Airport Fountain restoration.
On Monday, December 10, 2018, the Leadership Cheyenne class of 2015-2016 presented a check to keep the project moving forward to meet expected deadlines for completion.
“The 2015-2016 Leadership Cheyenne class is beyond excited to present this check to the Historic Preservation Board on behalf of the City of Cheyenne. This project was brought to the group by the Cheyenne Chamber. It’s a piece of our history and a reminder of our deep aviation roots. This beautiful art deco fountain can and one day will hold water again and be the spotlight of the 8th Avenue corridor.” – Kyndra Herrera, class member and Vice-Chair of the Leadership Cheyenne Steering Committee.
The Historic Preservation Board, the City of Cheyenne need the community involvement in continuing efforts to raise money, as this is not a small ask. The terra cotta restoration alone costs roughly $100,000. The board has been proactive in using donated monies to match federal monies, but more is needed.
