South High Senior, Numark Ricafranca Named Student of the Week
South High Senior, Numark Justine Ricafranca, is named the Laramie County School District #1 Student of the Week.
Last year, Ricafranca moved to Cheyenne from the Philippines. He loves filmmaking and in October 2018, he was a finalist in the Cheyenne Youth Short Film Festival. This was only his second attempt at making a movie. Recently, he produced a bus stop arm public service announcement for LCSD1’s awareness campaign. A story about his work is featured in the February Public Schools’ Chronicle. Ricafranca is active in debate and enjoys honing his filmmaking skills. He appreciates the opportunity to explore both activities since they were not offered in the Philippines. Ricafranca plans to study filmmaking in college.
“Numark displays our ‘Enthusiastic’ value of the HERD by always covering events for the school through Bison Broadcasting,” TV/Media teacher Lisa Hushbeck said. “He takes great pride in his work and he is involved in many activities. He takes his position on the debate team seriously. He moved here last year and he has taken everything the education system can offer. He loves being at South!”
