Military Affairs Committee Gets Unique Tour of Launch Facility at F.E. Warren AFB
Members of the Military Affairs Committee got a rare glimpse behind the curtains of one of the United States’ biggest defense mechanisms. Following the monthly luncheon presented by Midas featuring a mission briefing from Col. Stacy Jo Huser, members were escorted to the Launch Facility Trainer located on FE Warren AFB. The launch trainer features a full-scale replica of the Minuteman Intercontinental Ballistic Missile launch silos. The 90th Missile Wing operates and maintains 150 of these silos scattered throughout the tri-state region. Majority of the missiles are located in Nebraska and Colorado in which FE Warren airmen manage. In coming months one of the squadrons that used to house the Peacekeepers will soon become a Wyoming museum destination, Quebec 01 Missile Alert Facility.
