150th celebration of Wyoming Women’s Suffrage started this year, in 2019, and continues to 2020.
The anniversary in 2019 is the celebration of the legislation granting women the right to vote and to hold office. In 2020 the anniversary will be to celebrate the first vote cast by a Wyoming woman. Governor’s Council on Women’s Suffrage Celebration is reviewing various proposals to recognize the historic milestones and incorporating them into a Statewide arrangement of festivities. Help share the story of Wyoming’s history by hosting a showcased event for this monumental celebration.
Even take a moment to celebrate the women who reside in the community and learn about their stories. The Diamonds In The Rough Podcast is a great way to do this, as well as getting engaged in the various Women’s organizations in Cheyenne; League of Women’s Voters, Women’s Civic League, Women’s Leadership and many others.
