Linda Weppner Named Person of the Year by Chamber
Linda Weppner named recipient of the Person of the Year during the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Banquet Awards presented by Halladay Motor Subaru.
Finalists were celebrated on Friday, March 15th and winners were revealed throughout the evening. The event was made possible by an array of sponsors, including Silver Sponsors; ANB Bank, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming, Element Church and Long Reimer Winegar, LLP. The Awards Banquet was filled with surprises
The most prestigious award of the evening was the Person of the Year Award. Last year’s recipient, Tucker Fagan did the honors of unveiling the 2018 Person of the Year. Linda Weppner. Professionally, Linda has owned her own business, Century 21 Bell Real Estate since 1980. She also serves to pass on her success as an instructor for the real estate industry. Linda is an approved instructor by the WY Association of Realtors for Ethics I & II and numerous other subjects.
Linda has served on the Women’s Civic League of Cheyenne since 1976, various Boards include the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She has not only served the business community but also those less fortunate through the Realtor Family Fund Coordinator and the Canned Food Drive.
Another award recipient of the evening who wasn’t expecting an award, was Mayor Marian Orr. Mayor Orr was recognized for her work with making the City of Cheyenne more business friendly and focused on economic advancement. She was named the 2018 Business Advocate.
Additionally, the Forward Greater Cheyenne was named the Committee of the Year. This group was assembled in 2017 and is comprised of various community stakeholders and economic development agents. They united to assess solutions for economic advancement. Co-Chairs, Brian Heithoff from High West Energy and Mike Williams of Jonah Bank of Wyoming, accepted the award on behalf of the Forward Greater Cheyenne Steering Committee Members.
