27 gymnasts from Cheyenne Gymnastics competed against 18 other gymnastics clubs (389 gymnasts overall) from across the state at the USA Gymnastics/Wyoming State Gymnastics Championships on March 16-17 at Sheridan College.
Five gymnasts earned gold medals and state champion titles: Roxy Smith, Uneven Bars Gold Medalist (Xcel Bronze); Elliana Gill, Floor Exercise Gold Medalist (Xcel Silver); Jadyn Martin, Uneven Bars Gold Medalist (Xcel Silver); Samantha Johnson, Uneven Bars Gold Medalist (Xcel Gold); and Madeline Dillow, Balance Beam Gold Medalist (Level 7). Additionally, team members earned 10 silver medals and 11 bronze medals.
Madeline and Grace Dillow, Abbie Mickelson, and Chelsea Sigsbury qualified to represent Cheyenne and the state of Wyoming at Region 3 Level 7 Regional Championships in Tulsa, OK April 5-7. Samantha Johnson and Tasarra Robinson qualified to represent Cheyenne and the state of Wyoming at Region 3 Xcel Regional Championships in Kansas City, MO May 3-5.
The team is coached by head coach Shannon Mitchell, Amber Hoffman, Caylee Martin, and Autumn Wood and practices year-round at the City of Cheyenne’s Neighborhood Facility.
