Zoey Martinez Named LCSD #1 Student of the Week
Triumph High’s Zoey Martinez is in 10th grade and was named the Laramie County School District #1 Student of the Week.
Zoey Martinez was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of April 29. A Triumph High sophomore, Martinez is kind and positive to her classmates and peers. Her previous schools were Buffalo Ridge Elementary and Carey Junior High. She has attended Triumph High for the last two years, maintains a 4.0 GPA and will graduate one year early. Her parents are Anita Martinez and Paul Martinez.
“She is an amazing leader and works hard,” Triumph Principal Mike Helenbolt said.
When she’s not busy with school work, Martinez participates in Interact Club, SkillsUSA, DECA, National Honor Society and Young Life. Recently, she earned a silver medal at the SkillsUSA competition held in Casper.
Committee members say they selected Martinez because she exemplifies the Triumph culture. Well-spoken and professional, she represents the school at conferences.
Committed to her education, Martinez has set a goal for herself to have perfect attendance throughout her entire high school career. She was involved in the selection process for Triumph’s new principal and introduced him to the LCSD1 Board of Trustees.
Martinez said attending Triumph High has “absolutely transformed me as a person.”
