Get Ready! Google Street View Coming to Cheyenne
Visit Cheyenne continues to help the local hospitality and business community grow their online presence with Google, the world’s largest search engine.
Next week, Visit Cheyenne is bringing Truly 360, a Google-affiliated firm, to film virtual reality tours of top Laramie County attractions and to update the Street View footage of downtown, iconic attractions and major streets. The new filming is a great opportunity to showcase Cheyenne and Laramie County to the online world.
The Street View filming of streets will begin on Friday, June 28 and last over the weekend. Some parts of Cheyenne and Laramie County have not been filmed for 12 years so this is a great opportunity to accurately film our new developments.
In particular, the Google Street View camera will be at the following locations at specific times. Visit Cheyenne encourages business owners to spruce up their establishments and showcase themselves and Cheyenne in the best light possible. Have fun with it and help Cheyenne shine!
- Friday, June 28. Starting at 9 am at the WY Capitol, coming down Capitol Avenue. The camera will film all of downtown from the Capitol to the Depot, along with parallel streets on both sides.
- Saturday, June 29. Starting at 9 am in Lion’s Park on the Greenway. The camera will film the 35 miles of Greenway trails.
Other areas to be filmed include Pine Bluffs, Curt Gowdy State Park, Laramie County Community College, the Archer Events Complex, and major roads and streets.
In early May Visit Cheyenne hosted fifty hospitality partners for Google training at Little America Hotel. With the prevalence and growth of Google’s travel platforms, Visit Cheyenne feels it is important for the tourism stakeholders in the community to have the latest information and power to control their presence on Google and Google Maps.
Visit Cheyenne is the official destination marketing organization for Laramie County WY, and is the leader in developing, promoting and protecting the Cheyenne area travel industry.
