Wyoming Auditor Follows Through on Transparency

Wyoming State Auditor Kristi Racines ran for her position last year in 2017 on the platform of making Wyoming’s financials transparent. 

Yesterday was the launch of the website, www.wyopen.gov, that allows users to search, view and download expenditure data by state agency, vendor name, vendor location and expenditure category. 

“I want o thank Auditor Racines and her staff for their work in putting Wyoming’s checkbook online and showing taxpayers how their dollars are spent. We pledge to continue our efforts to promote transparency in government.” expressed Governor Gordon.

When visiting the website the 2016, 2017 and 2018 financials are listed for review. Upon using the search tool and filtering results an option to download the results will become available.

Racines says in a release that government transparency “should be the norm and not the exception.”
