“No Name” Donkey Needs Your Suggestions
During Cheyenne Frontier Days a Wyoming local author, from Casper, is capturing suggested names for her donkey.
Author, Mary Fichtner, writes stories about “Rusty the Ranch Horse.” In fact, the venture is a family affair. Here daughter, Roz Fichtner, does all of the illustrations. When looking through the books a little character goes on each page, like a little Easter egg hunt. For example, in one book it is a cute little raccoon, another a bird. There is one book that specifically talks about Cheyenne, Wyoming and highlights a variety of local amenities of the area, “Rusty Goes to Frontier Days.”
“We just got him a few weeks ago and he had a name but it doesn’t suit him. We thought it would be fun to have folks suggest names and I really am hoping for submissions that will go well in poems for the books.” expressed Mary Fichtner.
When in the “Old Western Village” of the Frontier Days Park, the booth the livestock inspiring the books are on-site ready for petting and guests can even submit suggested names for the newest member of the Fichtner Family, “No Name” Donkey.
