LCCC Celebrates Surbrugg Prentice Auditorium Groundbreaking
Laramie County Community College celebrated the start of construction on the Surbrugg Prentice Auditorium, yesterday, August 16th.
This new performance space is named after Dr. Sandra Surbrugg and Dr. Bob Prentice, and was also made possible thanks to Laramie County voters, the Wyoming legislature, and private gifts. Dr. Joe Schaffer, President of Laramie County Community College shared the project was started in the mid-90’s and is scheduled to open in December 2020.
Dr. Surbrugg shared her experience as an undergraduate student of Laramie County Community College and stated, “Exposure to the arts, music, theatre, and listening to speakers who had opinions other than our own was a growing experience… thus we think the addition to the LCCC campus will not only benefit the students enrolled in the award winning theatre, music, and arts programs, but will also benefit all of the students and the community as well. The students living on and off campus will have more activities to enliven their campus experience.”
