The Future of Cheyenne’s Senior Living
Cottonwood Creek will be a new development of senior living residences off of Faith Drive.
Founders Teresa Crawford and her husband Brian celebrated the start of construction on Cottonwood Creek of Cheyenne today, September 12th. Crawford explained this project is a realization of a life-long dream inspired by her relationship with her Grandmother. This facility is not a nursing home, but rather a “Memory Support Residence.” Crawford explained the development is designed to meet specific needs of those with memory care needs. The colors they paint the walls, the carpet they put on the floors, and the way they build the buildings are geared towards their needs and celebrate their abilities rather than focus on their disabilities.
Cottonwood Creek’s mission and vision is to, “celebrate what disabled seniors can do and quietly support what they can’t do.”
This development will span across 5 acres of land and will include three 16 unit residences that will be connected. As these residences are completed, an additional 16 units of independent living duplexes will be built for seniors not specific to memory care. The projected completion date is the spring of 2020.
Several local businesses helped finance and develop this project. Among those recognized were, Ryan Whitehead and Dennis Wallace of Wyoming Bank and Trust, Brad Emmons of AVI Engineering, Wyatt Knutson of CTL, and Ryan Gertsch and his wife Lisa of Redco Construction.
