Meals on Wheels Executive Director Announces Retirement
Longtime Meals on Wheels Executive Director, Sharon Benson, recently announced she will retire December 31, 2019.
Meals on Wheels Board Vice President, Tyler Gibbs, noted Sharon has been a valuable member of the Meals on Wheels program since 1990 and has been the driving force behind much of Meals on Wheels’ success over the last 29 years.
“The Board wishes Sharon a wonderful retirement….she will be missed by the entire Meals on Wheels family,” Gibbs said.
Under Benson’s leadership, the organization has expanded its outreach to deliver approximately 85,000 meals annually to clients in Laramie County.
“It has been my privilege and honor to work with the wonderful dedicated volunteers, donors, staff, and community for the past thirty years,” Executive Director Sharon Benson said. “The hard work and commitment of these people has inspired me daily. Cheyenne is a great place to live and work because of the people throughout this caring community. I will miss everyone I’ve worked with in this collective effort. I feel truly blessed for the opportunities we had to make a difference in people’s lives.”
