John J. Koehler acquired 1.5 acres of undeveloped public property that is just south of the Cheyenne Ice & Events Center for a total of $293,000 after the approval of the Cheyenne City Council Meeting on Monday, September 9th.
It was voted 9-0 to approve the real estate purchase. The property owner,Koehler, expressed that he intended to combine the newly purchased property with the Atlas Motel Property which he purchased for a larger hotel development. This would require completely demolishing the existing motel in order to complete the future development.
During the “Monday Updates” Facebook Live Broadcast, Brendan Ames, City of Cheyenne Economic Development Director, reported this project is on target. Yong Kim, currently is the co-owner of the Rodeo Inn as well as the Atlas Motel. Cited in a Wyoming Tribune Eagle Article published September 24th, 2019, she is waiting a cost estimate in order to demolish the property.
