Walmart Provides $16,000 Grant to 10 local organizations
Walmart announced today that $16,000 in local grants will be awarded to 10 local organizations to help support and strengthen our community. The grants will be presented at a check presentation ceremony at Walmart Store 1315 on Dell Range Blvd on Friday October 25th, 2019.
“Not only do we provide community grants to support the wonderful programs we have here in Cheyenne, we also have associates that volunteer in the community and Walmart provides a VAP check to those organizations as well,” Tyler Thieme, store manager.
Community grants along with Volunteerism Always Pays (VAP) checks will be awarded to the following organizations:
- American Cancer Society Relay for Life (Event VAP 42 associates) $4,000.00
- Cheyenne Gunslingers Association (VAP William Gowen) $750.00
- City of Cheyenne Community Recreation & Events $500.00
- Climb Wyoming $1,500.00
- Day of Giving $2,000.00
- East High School $500.00
- Friends of Foster Families Inc. $3,000.00
- Laramie County Library Foundation $1,000.00
- Magic City Enterprises $500.00
- Military Affairs Committee Adopt an Airman Program (VAP Amanda McAlaster) $500.00
- Operation Homefront $500.00
- Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative Foundation $1,500.00
- Wyoming State Department of Family Services $5,000.00
