Applications Released for Leadership Cheyenne
The Leadership Cheyenne Applications are now available to the public!
The Leadership Cheyenne program is part of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. It is focused on leadership and workforce development and overall education of the greater Cheyenne area. Graduates of the program gain a further understanding of community and civic trusteeship through the 9 month program, beginning in August of 2018 and ending in June of 2019.
Selected are a diverse group of business professionals to participate creating a cross-industry peer group for the Class. With their backgrounds, experiences and areas of influences, they bring that into the program to fully strengthen the educational scheduled activities. The goal is to inform participants about the diversity of our community in regards to government, education, business, economic development, and social issues.
Melanie Hornbeck, Outreach Librarian with the Laramie County Library System, and current class member had this to say about the program, “Leadership Cheyenne was an amazing experience of growth for me – growth in my community, growth in myself, and the cultivation of lasting relationships with my classmates. While the program challenged me to dig deep into my community and find new ways to give back, it was also lots of fun – from riding in a Blackhawk helicopter to holding newborn lambs on a local ranch! It is an incredible learning opportunity for all who participate.”
Applications are due Friday, June 8th and applicants are asked to participate in a mixer Wednesday, June 20th for final consideration. Participants will be notified by July 1st of their acceptance into the program.
