Blue Federal Credit Union Foundation Donates $27,000 to United Way of Laramie County

The Blue Federal Credit Union Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit for the Credit Union, held their 17^th annual golf tournament for the benefit of United Way this past August.

For the past 17 years, Blue has given over $233,000 through the tournament to United Way, which serves the individuals and families in Laramie County through various education programming and funding.

“All of us at Blue have been bringing the community together to ‘Do Good’ by supporting United Way of Laramie County through this tournament.  This past year we added a ball drop to assist in raising more funds for United Way.  Our friends at Reiman Corp provided a 60 foot forklift and dropped the balls from the air.  The balls sold for $10 each or 11 for $100.  Our tournament for 2019 will take place on Friday, August 9”, said Stephanie Teubner, Blue’s President/CEO.

United Way of Laramie County has also expressed their gratitude and excitement for this year’s tournament. “The entire team at Blue is dedicated to the communities where they live and work.  Blue inspires us every day with their generous spirit and commitment to United Way.  Our partnership with Blue is one of our deepest relationships,” said Connie Sloan Cathcart, Executive Director of United of Way of Laramie County.

The golf tournament comes on the heels of a year full of giveback from the Credit Union. While this is a stand-alone golf tournament hosted by Blue, the Credit Union and its employee volunteers have sponsored and volunteered at several benefit tournaments throughout the year. “We couldn’t do what we do without our “army of Do Gooders,” said Michele Bolkovatz, Blue’s VP of Public Relations. “Blue dedicates thousands of dollars to community events each year, but without our employees helping out, we wouldn’t have near the impact.”

The Blue Foundation was founded to help the Credit Union and its members fulfill their “Do Good” mission and promote financial literacy.
