Central High’s Sinead Knepper Named LCSD #1 Student of the Week
Sinead Knepper, a junior at Central High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of April 8.
Ranked at the top of her class, she is part Central’s AP Capstone Diploma Program. She has participated on the girls’ swim team for three years, attended the University of Wyoming’s Summer High School Institute (HSI) program as a sophomore, participates in competitive speech and has played the piano for more than 11 years. She was also part of Central’s second-place state finish in “We the People.”
Knepper is the junior class president and the nominating committee said, “Her leadership is inspirational to both faculty and her peers.”
She also serves as the Interact Club’s president, vice president for Central’s Student to Student program and the International Club secretary.
Knepper competes in state drama and has won All-State in two different drama events. She participates in school plays and musicals. She often performs in Cheyenne Little Theatre community shows. A member of Central’s Concert Choir, she belongs to the All-City Choir as well.
“Sinead is Central High School’s student of the week because of her character, academic performance, and involvement within the school,” the nominating committee said. “She is a model student in every way and was an easy choice for this recognition.”
