0 The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce announced today it is launching the ‘Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Initiative’ to prepare regional businesses for the upcoming $90 billion investment to modernize F.E. Warren Air Force Base’s nuclear mission.
“This is the largest economic development investment in the history of the state of Wyoming,” according to Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President and C.E.O., Dale Steenbergen. “This program will engage and prepare our regional businesses and economy for the opportunity to compete for lucrative contracts, products and services by one of the two military contractors (Boeing and Northrop Grumman) vying for the project.”
Currently the two military contractors are participating in a product design competition required by the Department of Defense. Only one vendor will be selected as the primary on the project. While the two vendors compete to determine who will move forward to the engineering phase, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to preparing regional businesses to capitalize on this once-in-a-lifetime investment in Wyoming’s economy.
Resources includes the following:
