Earlier today, Black Hills Energy experienced an issue with two circuits at the Hilltop substation in Cheyenne.
The electrical power outage occurred at approximately 9:12 a.m., affecting power for about 5700 customers, in the areas of Downtown Cheyenne and South Cheyenne. Black Hills Energy dispatched multiple crews to the scene. Electrical power was restored to the majority of customers at 11:30 a.m., crews continue to work to restore the remaining customers. The cause of the electrical outage was wildlife related.
