County Commissioner Linda Heath Announces She Will Run for Re-Election
Commissioner Linda Heath will be running for re-election. In announcing her intent to run, she states she will continue to support growth in Laramie County through improving and protecting those conditions which make Laramie County an attractive place to do business; and preparing for the future, not just for tomorrow, through common sense realistic planning.
Linda grew up on a farm in the Nebraska panhandle. She participated in 4-H as a club member and a project leader. Her love of agriculture continues to this day. During her time as an Air Force spouse, she had the opportunity to observe Emergency Management practices, Internet Technology development in governmental applications, Health Care administration and personnel management. Through part ownership of a general construction business she learned the challenges facing small businesses. She has lived in various states, observing local government actions and their impacts on the communities. She continues to support the military and their families through membership in the Post 60 American Legion Auxiliary in Pine Bluffs and advocacy through other venues. Linda believes the strength of Laramie County is in its people, their individuality and sense of personal responsibility, all characteristics she embraces in her own life; as well as the traditional conservative values she has supported all her life. Wyoming has been home to her family for twenty-six years.
During her first term as a County Commissioner she has had the opportunity to serve as the Board liaison on several boards including; Fair Board, Recreation Advisory Board, Eastern Laramie County Solid Waste Disposal Board, Home Care Advisory Committee, the Downtown Development Authority, Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, Library Board, Economic Development Joint Powers Board and the Laramie County Fire Chiefs Association. She has also been involved with the Remediation Advisory Board for Missile Site 4, was one of the original members of the Air Force Community Partnership Group composed of several community leaders which had lead to the Enhanced Use Lease Agreement for the development of land near the F.E Warren for Airman housing and commercial property. She also serves on the Forward Cheyenne Community Planning and Development Steering Committee. These boards and organizations all serve various populations within the County and have further prepared her to continue serving as one of your Laramie County Commissioners.
Linda also is a member of the Wyoming County Commissioner’s Transportation Committee and the National Association of County Officials’ in the Nebraska panhandle Justice and Public Safety Committee. She often states that she is always learning and that is reflected in the FEMA certifications she has received and the Drug and Alcohol awareness and prevention training she has participated in.
