CPD Crash Reconstruction Unit Responds to Pickup vs. Bicycle Crash
On September 7, 2017 at approximately 2:49 p.m., Officers of the Cheyenne Police Department responded to the area of the intersection of Dillon Ave. and 19th St. for the report of a bicycle vs. pickup crash with injuries. Preliminary investigation determine Tina Matthis, a 47 year old female from Cheyenne, was on a bicycle southbound in the roadway in the 1900 block of Dillon Ave. and failed to stop for the stop sign at 19th St. Matthis continued through the intersection running into the rear driver’s side of a one ton Chevrolet Pickup pulling a flatbed trailer. The pickup was driving eastbound on 19th St. driven by Cory Morgan, a 29 year old male from Carpenter WY.
Matthis was transported to the Cheyenne Regional Hospital by ambulance. The full extent of her injuries are unknown at this time.
CPD Crash Reconstructionist, Officer Nick Serkedakis, responded to the scene to investigate the crash. The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
