Free Downtown/CFD Shuttle & New Downtown Visitors’ Guide Available
In a coordinated effort help increase visitor spending in Downtown, the Cheyenne Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is using a multi-pronged approach of marketing and a free shuttle during CFD.
To provide visitors (and locals) with a comprehensive guide of everything that Downtown has to offer, DDA has created “An Insider’s Guide to Downtown”, a 24-page brochure that includes descriptions of shopping, dining and service options, as well as information on all types of events and attractions such as museums and concerts. It also includes information on parking locations, alternative ways to see Downtown (the trolley, free carriage rides or the free ReRide bikes), as well as information on the Historic Downtown Walking Tour, monthly Art Walk, Big Boot locations – and more. The guide also includes a map showing the CFD parade route, along with days/times of the parades and pancake breakfasts. The guide also includes“insider tips” from locals on different aspects of Downtown. The shelf life of the guide is through the end of the year, with the idea that summer visitors will take it home with them and come back for fall and winter events and activities. As a complementary aspect of the printed version of the “Insider’s Guide.” In addition, DDA also has tv spots airing to help raise awareness and reinforce downtown’s message. Social media is also be used as part of the campaign. In a more proactive business development effort, DDA has contracted with PhatLimo to provide free shuttle service between Frontier Park and two downtown stops during CFD – with the goal of bringing more visitors and spending to Downtown Cheyenne.
