Governor Mead Supports Capitol City’s Initiative
Friday Governor Mead golfed in the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Tournament supporting local military initiatives.
The weather was wonderful on Friday for golfing and for building awareness around important initiatives in the greater Cheyenne area. The Chamber’s Wyoming Wranglers program funds a DC consultant who specializes in securing federal funding for local impact. The program has secured nearly $90 million in projects for FE Warren and the Wyoming Military Department.
Currently the program is working on a development called the Enhanced Use Lease. This will be a mixed use property that supplies 600 airmen a place to live within their means. Funds acquired will go toward the continued efforts to get that project launched.
Additionally, the Chamber’s Military Affairs Committee will continue to host and support efforts like this to bridge the gap between the business community and the military. This event served as a great opportunity to meet that mission.
Hunting with Heroes was onsite during the event as well and educated attendees on their efforts.
Collectively it was a golf tournament which served a larger purpose by uniting community members for an important cause.
