Governor Proclaims May 18th as Military Appreciation Day
Governor Mark Gordon proclaimed May 18th as Military Appreciation Day for the State of Wyoming.
This event established today, Monday, May 18th, 2019, is a special day to honor Armed Forces. It pays tribute to the brave men and women who served in the military and who are still serving today. The freedom and security that citizens of the United States enjoy today are in direct result of the blood shed and continued vigilance given by the United States Armed Forces over the history of the United States. The sacrifices of the Armed Forces – and the family members that support them – have preserved liberties that have enriched this nation and have positively impacted the great State of Wyoming.
Governor Gordon acknowledged during the proclamation the service men and women in attendance gifting them a pen to commemorate the proclamation. This event is held annually by the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee as a part of the Military May month of activities.
To further extend gratitude to the those who have served or are currently serving the Armed Forces Appreciation BBQ will be held this Saturday, May 18th. This event is free to currently serving military and their families and will be held at the High West Energy Cheyenne Center at 3302 I-80 Service Rd.
