Grace McFadden, Carey Junior High Named LCSD #1 Student of the Week
Grace McFadden was selected as Laramie County School District #1’s Student of the Week for the Week of November 5th.
Grace is a model student. She comes in each day with a positive attitude and greets her teachers with a warm, “hello.” She’s always on task and showing other students what the expected behavior is. Grace is conscientious in finishing her school work with very high quality. Outside of class, she is an active member of Student Senate where she is working diligently to improve the school community. Grace serves as an Office Assistant and is an amazing actress and member of our Theatre Arts club. Her high level of responsibility and desire to help others and make the world a better place can be seen in her interactions with others on a daily basis.
Carey Junior High Assistant Principal, Jessie Vierk, said this about Grace, “Grace is a tremendously thoughtful and conscientious person whose kindness shows in everything she does. Every interaction with her leaves you feeling positive about our youth and all they have to offer.”
In addition to being an outstanding student, citizen and role model at school, Grace is actively involved with her church, the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, in which she enjoys doing service projects to help others. Their youth group meets every Wednesday and they often do service projects that she loves. One of Grace’s favorite service projects with her church was helping to clean an elderly couple’s home and yard because of how thankful and sweet the couple was and that they showed their appreciation through their words and by giving the kids candy. She also enjoyed helping another time cleaning up a family’s yard so that they could sell their home and move.
Congratulations Grace!
