Isabelle Hunt, who is an eighth-grader at Carey Junior High, was selected as Laramie County School District 1’s Student of the Week for the week of Feb. 25.
Hunt is enrolled in Honors geometry, English and science classes at Carey. She serves as an office assistant, is a Carey Mentor and participates in speech and debate class.
“Isabelle is a model student,” members of the selection committee said. “She comes in each day with a positive attitude and greets her teachers with a warm ‘hello.’ ”
Outside of school, she is part of the traveling Sting soccer team and babysits to earn her own money. She is an active member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Youth group and is an alter server on Sundays. She also volunteers to teach catechism in the summer.
Hunt is a deliberate, reliable and hardworking student who earns A’s and B’s and puts extra effort to all of her school work. She is an active class participant who is respectful to teachers and kind to all students.
The committee added: “Isabelle really is amazing. She will share and participate in class and is friendly to all. She is one of the students that anyone in class will work with and she is giving to them and helpful. We give Isabelle the highest recommendation for Student of the Week!”
