Keeping Quality Health Care Locally
Cheyenne Regional Medical Center embarked on a journey which has resulted in an affiliate partnership with Front Range Health Care System, UC Health.
Today the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce hosted an educational luncheon focused on the recent affiliation between the local community hospital, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (CRMC) and UC Health. Various presenters from CRMC and UC Health explained their recent established affiliation with one another. During the presentation, Interim Director Patrick Madigan shared that in 2017 more hospital either closed, merged or dissolved. Hospital systems are changing at a rapid pace, therefore CRMC brought in the top rated healthcare consultant Navigant to assess areas of improvement for optimal health care services for the future. The process concluded with the importance of pursuing a Management Service Agreement (MSA). Phyllis Sherard further explained that an MSA is not a merger, acquisition or buy-out, it is purely a partnership.
“We are more similar than we are different and you have some great local talent here in Cheyenne.” Grace Taylor, UC Health Senior Director, Physician Relations and Outreach, “We are excited to be here with you today as a Partner. As with any family member, we expect some happy occasions, some celebrations, some fun, the occasion disagreement but hopefully we can get through it all.”
She further explained that her interactions with the CRMC has only been positive. UC Health is an 11 hospital integrated system and spans across the Front Range. It is a continually growing hospital and with this affiliate their network of influence is growing.
