Kids Deserve Dads
Father wants more time with his son and believes in what he is fighting for.
Zac Martin has been spending most of his time lobbying for two specific bills this legislative session. His son Elijah, 13 months old, is his reason for the passion he is putting into these two bills. Both of them, if passed, will change the way custodial parents and non-custodial parents interact. One of them is SENATE FILE NO. SF0020, looking at custody in the best interest of the children. The other bill is HOUSE BILL NO. HB0017 , which looks at child support amendments. Each of these bills focuses on two different issues that Zac has felt were important for dads (and moms) in state of Wyoming, when the parents are no longer together.
Zac is the Wyoming State Representative for the National Parents Organization. This has allowed him to connect with other parents throughout the state and has helped him create a network of parents fighting everyday to be able to see their children. The connection he has made has also motivated him to create a group, Kids Deserve Dads, that will be support and a resource for all parents.
Status of both bills as of Friday, March 2, 2018:
